    1. [S42] Obituary.
      ROBERT A. CHARSHA: 68, of West Chester died Monday, July 23, 1990 in the Chester County Hospital, West Chester, after a long illness. He is the fiance of Erma Hemphill. Born in West Chester, he was a son of the late Glen and Florence Ostenrider Charsha. He was a 1941 graduate of West Chester High School. Following high school, he worked at the Sun Ship Building Co. and then entered the United States Navy, serving in World War 11 in the Far East. Following his military service, he was a letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service for 26 years, retiring in 1977. A member of St. Agnes Church, West Chester, he was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 1720, the American Legion Post No 134 and the Butler-O'Connor-McCormick VFW Post No. 106, all in West Chester. He was also a member of the Fame Fire Co. No. 3 and the West Chester Fish and Game Association. In addition to his fiance, he is survived by a son, Robert Allen of McHenry, Ill; two grandchildren; a sister, Helen Whitney of West Chester; two stepsons, Jimmie Murphy and Dennis Murphy, both of West Chester; three stepdaughters, Lois T. Laffey of Cochranville, Mary C. Williams of West Chester and Jerry L. Wilimzig of Honey Brook; 16 stepgreat-grandchildren. A graveside service will be at noon Thursday in the Green Mount Cemetery, West Chester. There will be a calling time for immediate family from 11 a.m. to noon on Thursday in the Boyd Funeral Home, Church and Miner streets, West Chester. Memorial contribution may be made to the Chester County Hospital, 701 E. Marshall St., West Chester, 19380. (Chester 7/25/1990)
