    • Allen Gainor Reynolds, 96, of North East, MD, passed away June 13, 2007 at Calvert Manor Healthcare Center.

      Mr. Reynolds was born in Rising Sun, MD on December 17, 1910, the son of the late Leroy and Margaret Barrow Reynolds. Allen was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II and most recently was employed by the Newark School District. He enjoyed farming and caring for his orchard. Allen touched all the hearts in his path and will be dearly missed.

      He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Zimmer Reynolds; 4 daughters, Ginny Lunn and her husband William of St. Petersburg, FL, Edna Zuraw of St. Louis, MO, Sharon Macauley and her husband Thomas and Patricia Nichols and her husband Randall, both of North East; 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He also leaves behind 2 brothers, Leroy Reynolds and his wife Daphne of Opa Locka, FL and Lindsay Reynolds of Newark, DE; 5 sisters, Lucy Wood and her husband Lewis of Marshallton, DE, Rachel Voshell of Elkton, MD, Evelyn Casalena and her husband Louis of Wilmington, DE, Grace Cockerham and her husband Earl of Elkton, MD and Margaret Joines and Her husband Joseph of Newark; and sister-in-law Doris Reynolds of Newark. He was preceded in death by a brother and 2 sisters.

      A funeral service will be held at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 275 S. College Ave., Newark, DE on Monday June 18, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Friends and family may call at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in Newark Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Thomas Episcopal Church or Union Hospital c/o R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 West Main St., Newark, DE 19711.
