      Hi Lucille,
I have some info. for you. Anthony Terry Carter was my ggg-grandfather too! I will get to the Carters in a moment. About the Colquitts, this is what I have been able to find. I have seen their name spelled as Colquitt and as Colquett. Anthony Colquitt married Christian Terry. Her parents were Daniel Terry and Christian Evans. Anthony Colquitt was the son of John Colquitt, b. 1682, Isle of Wright, Va., d. 7/1769 in Cumberland County, Va. He married Ann Hawes who was b. 1692, Essex, Va., d. 1761. John Colquitt was the son of John Colquitt who was b. 1636, in St. Sampsons Parish, Isle of Guernsey, d. 1689, Isle of Wright, Va. He married Lucretia Anthony, b. 1643, d. 1689.

      Anthony Colquitt m. Christian Terry
      son of
      John Colquitt m. Ann Hawes
      son of
      John Colquitt m. Lucretia Anthony

About the Carters, I have been searching for the parents of Hartwell Carter for 3 years and have found nothing. I found a Hartwell Carter, son of Dabney Carter, who married Martha Terry. This is not our Hartwell. I wonder if he is not a relative though. My Carter line:

      Anthony T. Carter m. Sara Darden(Durden)
      father of
Sampson Carter m. Amanda Jane Sellers
      father of
Jasper Carter m. Hanna Jane Owens
      father of
Hanna Belle Carter m. Daniel Creamer
      father of my mother
      Ruth Creamer m. Terry Harris

Can you give me any info. about Anthony Carter or Hartwell Carter. What did they do? All I have is names, I don't know anything about the individuals. I hope this helps you. How does your Carter line go. My gg-grandfather, Sampson Carter, moved to Washington County, Florida in the 1800's. I live in Wakulla County, Fl. It is just south of Tallahassee, Fl. Where did your family end up at? I will be looking forward to hearing from you.
