      I.-2-i_HENRY SCRUGGS, son of John Scruggs by his wife Judith Porter, married Ann LNU

      He moved to Cumberland County where he died in
      the Parish of Littleton. His will, dated April 10,
      1793, and probated in Cumberland County March
      24, 1794, mentions wife Ann, four children, Little
      berry, Sally, Phebe, and Tabitha, his grandchil
      dren the Le Seurs (their father Peter Le Seur).
      French Hugenot, was born 8ber 23, 1750, son
      of David Le Seur and Elizabet, his wife),
      granddaughter Lucy Porter Scruggs, and her
      Brother William. He appoints son, Littleberry Scruggs, and George Baskerville, sole executors.
      The will is sealed, signed and delivered in presence of Ann Seay, Fleming Cayce and Sephia Golding.

      In the name of God Amen. I Henry Scruggs of
      the County of Cumberland and Parish of Littleton,
      being sick and weak in body but of perfect sound mind and memory

      I give unto my beloved wife Ann during her natural life or widowhood the land whereon I now live
      with all my slaves except, Sam, Harry, Mary, and
      Betty &.
      I give and bequeth unto my son Littleberry Scruggs
      the land whereon I now live after his Mothers death.
      I give unto my grand children Leseurs, Harry and
      Mary to them with their increase, their heirs and assignes forever under the care of their Father Peter Leseur &. also I give unto my grand daughter Lucy Porter Scruggs, a negro girl named Bett, with half her increase if any and the other half to her brother William Scruggs them and to their heirs forever &.
      Divided among my four children, Littleberry, Sally
      Phebe, and Tabitha and also appoint my son Littleberry Scruggs and George Baskerv'ille whole and sole Executors of this my last will and Testament &.
      Signed, Sealed and pronounced and declared by the
      said Henry Scruggs to be his last Will and Testament in the presence of HENRY SCRUGGS. X his Mark.
      The name Harry and Bett interlined before As-
      signed Admitted it is my desire that my grand daughter Lucy Porter Scruggs have a good feather bed out of my household furniture.
