      Gene Dixon Obituary Brother of Margie M. Dixon

      DANVILLE - Gene Winford Dixon, 73, formerly of 549 Moorefield Bridge Road, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2008 at Danville Regional Medical Center. He had been in declining health and a resident of Riverside Health and Rehab Center for the past three years.
      Born Nov. 20, 1934, in Pittsylvania County, he was the son of the late John Smith Dixon and the late Gracie Inman Dixon.
      He lived most of his life in the Brosville community and attended Brosville High School. He retired after eight years of employment with Durham Hosiery, working in the shipping department. He was of the Baptist faith.
      He is survived by two sisters, Margie Garrett and Judy Phelps, both of Danville; and three brothers, John Dixon, of Danville, Nelson Dixon, of Brosville, and William Emerson Dixon, of Eden, N.C.
      The graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 8 at the Dixon Family Cemetery in Pittsylvania County with the Rev. Gilmore Hundley officiating....
