This report compiled by James S. Hunt and dated 31 Aug 2014 ignores many individuals named James Patterson and concentrates on the descendants of the s/o of James Patterson, Jr. and his wife Agnes Finney [She may be Agnes Finley-mfe] It is postulated that this James who married Agnes is the s/o John as is noted in the diary of Rev. Cuthbertson. Cuthbertson arrives in this country in 1751. One of his first deeds is to baptise a group of congregants who are surely 'grown men and women'. Of these is James Patterson, and his sister Jane. Other notations by Cuthbertson show births of several Patterson baptisms to a James Patterson, a Peter Patterson, William Patterson, and others. The Muddy Run Meeting House was overrun with James Pattersons. George Reynolds is also baptised in 1751 and he is dead in 1752.
