This is where she grew up and became a legal secretary until her marriage in 1944 to Donald L. Frazer. Shortly after the birth of their first child, Donald, the family relocated to Montevideo, Uruguay in continuance of her husband's career with Westinghouse. In 1957 after ten years in Uruguay, Marion returned to the United States with four children in tow. The family settled in Beach Haven on the Jersey shore. In 1961, Marion married William J. Hodgson, an entrepreneur and Mayor of Ship Bottom, on Long Beach Island, NJ where the family lived for many years. In 1987, their winter home in Key Biscayne since 1972 became Marion and Bill's permanent residence. Marion's interest in civic affairs took full fruit, often in leadership positions in the community. She was on the board of Commodore Club East for twenty-four years, serving as president for 15 years. Marion served as president of the Episcopal Women's Club of St. Christopher's By-the-Sea Episcopal Church. She loved and appreciated the little things in life and nature, always acknowledging the beauty around us. Marion had an unshakeable love of God, country and family. Her passions were family, church, dogs and all manner of animals, swimming, the sea, politics, history, reading, sports and not lastly, Marion loved to cook. A Celebration of Marion's Life will be held at St. Christopher's By-the-Sea Episcopal Church of Key Biscayne August 22 at noon with reception to follow in the Parish Hall.
