John McClanahan Will [Extract from the original by Charlou Dolan] Lunenburg Co., VA, Will Book 1, page 284: In the Name of God, Amen, I John McClanahan being sick and weak in body yet of perfect mind & memory... two eldest sons my hold land & I allow each of them to pay my son John £20 when he is of the age of 21... my son William if he come to the age of 21 to give my brother James a firm deed for 150 acres of land at the lower end of the land when... my dearly beloved wife to have benefit of my plantation during the time that she remains my widow... Executor William Snodgrass & my loving wife & my son William when he comes to age... I appoint my son-in-law to sell and dispose of said moveables... and after my Just debts is paid & my wife got her thirds I allow ____ of my moveables to be equally divided my daughters except the three wagon horses I allow them to be kept for the ____ of the Plantation viz one of them is a stallon & one a geldon & the third a mare... 8 Oct 1758. 6 Nov 1759 -- Foregoing will presented in court by William Snodgrass & Frances McClanahan...
