    • Marian Sproat Brock, 92, died Tuesday, September 10, 2002, in a local hospital. Mrs. Brock was born on March 16, 1910 in Vincennes, Indiana. She was an accomplished pianist and taught music in the local grade schools of Knox County, Indiana prior to her marriage. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, a charter member of Selva Marina Country Club and a long-time volunteer at the Better Business Bureau. She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Robert (Bob) Brock. The couple, both avid golfers, lived many years in the Dominican Republic as representatives of the Bayer Corporation. During their marriage Bob and Marian traveled the world and had many friends in other countries. She is survived by her brother Ben Sproat of Columbus, Indiana and her sister Jane Dougherty of Atlanta, Georgia, a sister-in-law, Margaret Cunningham of Tuscon, Arizona and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Brocks wishes were that her body be donated to the Anatomical Board, State of Florida, Gainesville, Florida. There will be no local services and no flowers are requested.
