      Dear Jean,

I doubt Thomas Brooks Jones, son of Thomas Jones and Mary Brooks, ever resided in Campbell County. He was born 19-Jun-1766 according to both his tombstone and his father's account book which is archived in the VA State Library. In 1830 he would be 63-64, not 50-60. There are only four children of Thomas and Mary Jones named in the account book. "History of Pittsylvania County" and the William and Mary Quarterly. In the will of Thomas Jones, Sr. He does, however, name his wife and 4 children as legatees. -Thomas Brooks Jones
