DANVILLE REGISTER, Danville, Va., Tue., May 25, 1909, p. 8, col. 2 [edited].
Mr. William Felix (sic) Walters, eldest son of the late Captain Azariah Graves Walters, died yesterday at his country home "Cottage Grove," just beyond the Danville School for Boys after a long illness.
He was born in Pittsylvania county, April 26, 1834, being his 76th year at the time of his death. When the War Between the States broke out in the early sixties, Mr. Walters entered the Confederate Army and served during the four years with honor. He was a member of the Cabell-Graves Camp, Confederate Veterans of this city.
Early in life he joined the Methodist church and was a member of Main Street Methodist Episcopal Church. He is survived by two brothers, Messrs. R. A. and E. A. Walters of this city and one daughter, Miss Mollie Belle Walters. The funeral will be held from the late residence this afternoon and interment will be in Green Hill Cemetery.

Description: Mollie Belle Walters was not the daughter of Azariah Graves Walters. She was his granddaughter, the daughter of his son William Felix Walters and Ann E Flagg. Felix and Ann separated shortly after her birth and Mollie Belle lived her entire life at Azariah's home "Cottage Grove". I have a copy of Mollie's obit, Felix's obit and Azariah's will which all indicate she was the daughter of Felix. According to her obit she died January 1922 in Edmond's Hospital in Danville Va. Also Nannie and Mary who were living with Azariah at the time of the 1860 census were not his daughters. They were his nieces, the daughters of his brother Alexander who had died young. Refer to Nancy Dyson Walters Green's obit. Azariah had only 5 children (Mary Catherine, Bettie Payne, William Felix, Archibald Edmund and Robert Alexander). I base this on his will and obit. All were born before 1844 when his first wife, Eliza Ann Payne Richardson, died. There is no evidence he had children with his second or third wife. Thank You
