      1. BENJAMIN R1 BOLEY SR. He married PATIENCE W DANIEL November 15, 1798 in Charlotte County, Virginia.
      Notes for BENJAMIN BOLEY:
1810 census shows Benjamin Boley as having 1 boy over 10, 2 boys under 10 and 1 girl under 10.
1830 Census Bedford County - Lists Presley Bowley, a Betsy Boley with two small girls, and a name I can not make out. It looks like a Gr??? or Gorea B Bowley. There are five males and one female in this household. The male ages are: one 40 to 50, two 30 to 40, and two under 5. The female is age 20 to 30.
Analysis of the 1810 and 1830 census along with other documentation (Presley Boleys pension application, DAR applications, family bibles for John Boley and Elvira Boley Edwards, etc.) I believe the children of Benjamin R Boley, Sr. are: Parham A. Boley [or Asa P. Boley] that married Elizabeth Feare [Fair] in 1822; Lafayette Boley; Elvira Boley who married James Edwards in 1829 [Parham Boley was a witness at the wedding of Elvira Boley; and, Pleasant Boley that married Gabrilla Crank in 1834.
Since Pleasant M Boley didn't marry until 1834, he could be one of the two listed on the 1830 census as being between 30 - 40. Parham A Boley married a Elizabeth Feare in 1824. He migrated to Caswell County NC, I believe, about 1830 only because he was bondsman to Elvira B Boley's marriage in 1829. I believe the Betsy Boley that appears on this census to be his wife Elizabeth Fear (Fair). In 1850 Parham Boley is listed on the Caswell census as age 50, with his daughter Amanda Simpson and Esther D Fair. In 1854 he married Esther. If I am right about the time he migrated to NC, he could not have been one of the other Boley males listed in this Gr??? B Boley household in 1830.

Children of BENJAMIN BOLEY and PATIENCE DANIEL are:
      1.1. PARHAM ASA2 BOLEY, b. November 23, 1800.
      1.2. PLEASANT M BOLEY, b. May 20, 1805.
      1.3. LAFAYETTE BOLEY, b. October 01, 1803.
      1.4. ELVIRA F BOLEY, b. October 07, 1807.
Comments: Elvira B. Boley is on the 1860 Census of Halifax County, Va. The enumerator mistakenly shows her age a 32 whereas she was 52. She is also shown on the Cecil Co., Md. Census for 1870 where she lived with her son-in-law, Patrick Paul Ryan, and her daughter, Minerva Anne, and their children.
She no longer appears with the "Ryan" family in the 1880 Census, where the family had moved prior to 1880, and are enumerated living in Richmond, Va. Best guess is that she died while they were living in Md. but searches have been made of the cemeteries located in the Cecil Co., Md. area and no records have been found. (Raymond W. Ryan, 2nd great-grandson of Elvira Boley Edwards)
