  [S42] Obituary. Cynthia Calvert Parker Cynthia Calvert Parker, 66, of 109 Windsor Trail, died Saturday, August 19, 2017, at her residence after a decline in health for the past two years. Mrs. Parker was born in Danville, Va., on September 9, 1950, a daughter of the late, Robert Henry Calvert and Sarah Carter Calvert. Mrs. Parker was a Teacher in the Danville Public School system and retired after 33 years of service. She was of the Baptist faith, and was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma. On August 5, 1972, she married, Stephen "Steve" Randall Parker, who survives of the residence. Survivors also include two daughters, Laura P. Johnson, and husband, Brantley; Katie Parker; a brother, Bobby Calvert; two grandchildren, Luke and Amelia Johnson; and her two beloved cats, Max and Molly. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel conducted by the Rev. Steve Johnson. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens.
