We next find him in Muddy Run meeting house in Lancaster, Co. upon his marriage to Margaret Patterson. [recorded by the Rev. John Cuthbertson] Births of the children of William and Margaret Patterson Reynolds are also recorded by the Rev. Cuthbertson. John Reynolds, baptized Apr 1760, William baptized Apr 1758, and Joseph, Apr 1763. The records are all noted for April, which suggests the 'meeting' was held in the same place annually. Both brothers are present for the 1757 tax list in Lancaster Co. in 1757 tax list enumerated by Hugh Long. No record is to be found for either Hugh or William in Lancaster after 1757.
William's brother Hugh Reynolds is also first located in Martock when he is shown as Freeman in 1756. His marriage to Mary Neeley is also by the Rev. John Cuthbertson 30 Dec 1756, as is the baptism of Hugh and Mary Neeley Reynolds' child, Joseph baptized 15 Aug 1759. William Reynolds, brother to Joseph of Pittsylvania joins the Revolution effort after his father and brother. He is named beneficiary and executor of the will of William Neeley, his grandfather, in 1788, Pittsylvania County, Virginia and pays taxes on the land he inherited from William Neeley until 1833.

The following records were taken from Blunston's Land Grant west of the Susquehanna: John Reynolds obtained a Grant April 10, 1737 for 250 acres of land (a settlement for his son) on a branch of the Conegochague below the land surveyed to Hans Ireland. July 7, 1737, John Reynolds obtained a Grant for 100 acres of land at a place called Pine Meadows amongst the Pine Barrnes, about 2 miles southwesterly from where he lives. A search through the Pennsylvania Archives revealed the fact that John Reynolds from York County served in the Revolution under Capt. Charles Coulston of York County Militia. He was a seven months' man. Found on Page 693, Volume 2, Sixth Series, Pennsylvania Archives. William Renolds served in the York County Militia after the Revolution in 1786-7 under Capt. 6. [S226] Diary of Rev. John Cuthbertson, http://reynoldspatova.org/documents/Cuthperson-Scan.pdf.
James Patterson is found mentioned numerous times in the Diaries of the Reverend John Cuthbertson who arrived in the Maryland, Pennsylvania area in 1751. We believe Margaret Patterson who married William Reynolds is the daughter of this James. Additionally, 'widow Patterson' seems to be the mother of James. Furthermore, mention is also made in the Cuthbertson Diary on page 117 of A. Finley and James McClenehans 22 miles from John Watts. James McClanahans son, William married Esther Harris Findley (1745-1789)in Pennsylvania.
