The eldest son of John and Mary Morehead was Charles R.(4.58) He married, in 1756, Mary Turner, the daughter of James Turner and his wife, Kerenhappuck Norman. Kerenhappuck was the daughter of Isaac Norman and Frances Courtney, whose residence was in Spottsylvania County, Virginia.

Turner Gustavus Morehead, son of Charles and Mary Morehead, was born 07 January 1757. He married twice, first to Ann Ransdell/Ransdale on 07 June 1779 and secondly to Mary Ann Hewitt Hooe. (It should be noted here that certain genealogies state that Mary Ann was the first wife and that Ann Ransdell was the second.)

Ann Ransdell, Turner Morehead?s first wife, was born on 17 August 1756 (some researchers give Ann?s birthdate as 02 August 1756). Turner and Ann gave birth to nine children: Gustavus, born 28 January 1780; Margaret, born 28 September 1781; Nancy, born 09 March 1783; Mary, born 01 May 1784; Turner Gustavus Jr., born 08 May 1785; Armistead Ransdell, born 28 January 1787; Matilda, born 18 May 1789; Sally, born 11 January 1791; James, born 04 January 1793; and Henry, born 08 August 1795.

Turner Morehead served during the American Revolutionary War as a Captain in the Third Regiment of Virginia in 1776, and was present at the Battle of Germantown. He also served as a Militia Captain during the American Revolutionary War; he received his commission from the Fauquier County Court on 24 March 1778 (Variously, John M. Morehead gives the date as the 4th). Following the war, on 25 June 1787, Turner Morehead received a commission by the Fauquier County Court to serve as a Major General of the Militia. On 25 February 1794, Turner Morehead received a commission to serve as a Colonel of the Militia, and on 28 July 1794 as a Lieutenant Colonel Commandant of the Grand Battalion of the First Regiment. He eventually was promoted to Colonel of that Battalion, and served as such until he was replaced by Thomas Chilton on 22 April 1799. It might also be noted that Mrs. Delia C. Buckner quoted her husband, General Simon B. Buckner, as stating that Turner Morehead was ?the first to mount the parapets in the storming of Stony Point under General Wayne?.(4.63) After the War, the Turner Morehead family moved to Barron County, Kentucky in 1811 where he engaged in the milling business. Turner Morehead died on 23 February 1820 and his second wife, Mary Ann, died on 20 May 1838 at Nashville, Tennessee.
