      After Matthew Mockbee died in 1709 Capt. Edward Brock and his wife went to court to get custody of their grandsons, Brock and Matthew Jr.
      The widow Jane appeared in court, proved her good character and the need of Brock and Matthew to help her raise her young children. She was back in court again in Nov 1709 to get the sheriff to return the boys to her. "Capt. Edward Brock of and concerning the orphans of Mathew Mogbee had by his former wife Capt.
