    • Seely was the birth daughter of Corp. Elias L. Thayer Jr.
      and Lovina Seely Hunter. Elias died in 1881, and Lovina
      gave away some of her younger children to various Polk
      County families, including Seely.

      Source of the following obit is unknown - possibilities are
      "The Bolivar Free Press" or "The Bolivar Herald:"

      Seeley Thayer McKinney was born in Polk Co., MO, Sept. 22,
      1877; died Dec. 3, 1915, age 38 years, 2 months and 11
      days. She was married to Lester McKinney, Jan. 7, 1900. To
      this union were born four children, Albert, Gertrude,
      Lillian, and Edgar.

      She was taken at the age of 3 ½ years by Mr. and Mrs. J. H.
      Heydon, who reared and cared for her until her marriage.

      Rev. S. S. Pike preached her funeral at Pleasant Hill
      Baptist Church, Sat., Dec. 4. A large concourse of friends
      and relatives gathered to pay the last tribute of respect
      to this good wife and mother.
