Rev. Robert Foster Johnston, a son of Robert Ewing Johnston and the former Lucy Mildred Boisseau, was born in the bounds of Dyersburg, Tennessee. Robert received his master's degree from National Normal University (later Lebanon University) in Lebanon, Ohio. Robert was an ordained Presbyterian minister and pastor of churches in Erwin, Tennessee and Water Valley, Mississippi.
Rev. Johnston was married to Miss Eva Boydston, a daughter of Rev. James G. & Martha F. Boydston of Meridian, Mississippi. With his wife, he was a missionary for the Presbyterian Church Board of Missions in western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee.
During the last 12 years of his life he lived in Clearwater; where he was director of Sabbath Schools under the Presbyterian Sabbath School Board. Rev. Robert Foster Johnston departed this life on the 4th of April 1925 in the 71st year of his age.
