What is new here is that Abram (aka Abraham) David Reynolds was the son of Moses Reynolds.

Rod Stucker published a fine report a few years ago on The Reynolds Family of Pittsylvania County (part of which later became Patrick and Henry
Counties) and he first made that conclusion. There are a few mistakes in his report (as in all publications, including mine), so be cautious if you use it. I have vigorously researched this Reynolds family (my wife is a Reynolds whose descends from Jesse) of Patrick County, and particularly, the descendants of Moses and Jesse (who are the only brothers of that family who
remained in Patrick County and left descendants). The tax records, land records, deeds, and marriage records show, perfectly and conclusively, that
Abraham Reynolds was the son of Moses Reynolds and NOT of David Reynolds of Pittsylvania County, as Tillman suggests. There are no records to prove, or even infer, that they descend from James Reynolds and Sukie Lindsay, as is often stated. Further, the records of Patrick and Henry Counties do not show a connection between Abraham Reynolds and any other Reynolds family, except those of Jesse and Moses. Abraham appears on the tax list for the first time in 1802, the same year as
Moses' tithables decrease from three to two. Moses was the only Reynolds in Patrick County in 1801 with plural tithables.
Abram was surety for the marriages of his sisters and a few of his Uncle Jesse's daughters. Moses and Jesse's land adjoined and they lived near the present day Reynolds Homestead at Critz on the waters on the North Mayo River just east of No
Businees Mountain. On 15 Feb 1814, Patrick County deeds reveal that Abraham Reynolds bought 50
acres of land on Nobusiness Fork of Mayo River. By 1831 the Patrick County Historical Society lists that Abraham Reynolds owned 1038 acres on the
waters of the North Mayo River. This is the same area on Nobusiness Fork of the North Mayo River where Moses Reynolds obtained several land tracts and where he resided until his death. In June 1832, an estate case was recorded in Patrick County, in which Abram Reynolds is named first, followed by all the heirs of Moses Reynolds.

Mr. Satterfield's body was found in a cave near the home of the Reynolds, death was caused by a gunshot to the head. It isn't clear to this writer how the body was discovered, by whom, or how the Reynolds happened to be charged with it. Records are very scarce at this writing.
