      Mina Rigney Strother, 95, wife, mother, and God-mother, of Roanoke passed away Saturday, April 22, 2006. Mina was born October 26, 1910, in Richmond, the daughter of the late Herman F. and Margurite Gilbert McDaniel. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pearisburg and Grove United Methodist Church, Radford, Va. She was a member of the United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Number V, Washington, D.C. She was a retired Registered Nurse for Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her beloved husbands, James William Strother, and Griffin A. Rigney; and loving daughter, Joan Rigney Hallinan. Surviving are her darling God-daughter, Vivian Thornsberry, Tenn.; a dear sister, Dorothy Slade of Danville, Va.; Cousins, Rodney S. Morris, Pearisburg, Va. and Mary Hood, Richmond, Va. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at Birchlawn Cemetery with the Reverend James Bennington officiating.
