Mr. Joseph Jackson Gravely, 54, went to be with his Lord at his home at 842 Grove Street, Danville, VA. His death was not unexpected. For a year his health had been failing steadily and recently his condition had become serious. He was one of Danville's best known citizens with a reputation for probity in business affairs and for his personal integrity.
Mr. Gravely lived in Danville for forty four years since which time he had been engaged in various lines of business. His last enterprise was a restaurant on Market Street from which he compelled to withdraw on account of failing health. He was the son of Spotswood Franklin Gravely and Alice Williams Gravely. He married Eula V Lovell on January 17, 1907. He was a staunch Methodist and an earnest worker in his church. Mr. Gravely is survived by his wife and two children Francis Gravely and Helen Gravely and two brothers James L Gravely and George D Gravely of Lanham, MD.
