      I am pretty sure his last name at birth was DUKE, with no S at the end.
      In 1805 Henry Duke of Orange Co NC sold a mare and a slave named Sal
      I feel this was to foot the bill for the migration to Tennessee, circa 1809/10
      also Jefferson Co TN, census 1830 & 1840 call him Henry Duke
      He was born in Orange Co NC where the famous Duke Tobacco family is from, unfortunately we cannot connect him to Taylor Duke 1770 Orange Co NC-1830
      They were probably cousins at least... We have done some DNA testing, but it is inconclusive...
