They are Dorcas Mahan (1785-1845); Sophia Mahan (1786-1855); Sarah Mahan (1789-1848); two other wives, Mary Nowlin Mahan and Nancy Nowlin Mahan are proved to be the children of Bryan Ward Nowlin of Pittsylvania Co., Virginia. We believe the odds are that at least one [Sarah] is another sister of Mary and Nancy and a daughter of Bryan Ward Nowlin. Sophia and Dorcas are not known to be daughters of Bryan Nowlin.
