      This is Robert Carter who married Pattie Barksdale in Charlotte Co., VA. He is witness to Deeds in Charlotte Co., in 1757; so he cannot be the Robert of Willis Creek, in the 1759 Will of Robert Carter of Cumberland.

      In his 1777 Charlotte Co., Virginia Will he names his wife's 3 sisters, Judith Venable, [married James Venable], Agness Watkins [married Joel Watkins], and Elizabeth Daniel. He also identifies his 3 brothers Thomas, James and Robert Carter, and William Morton, guardian to dau. Frances Carter, and dau, Elizabeth Carter. Agness Watkins (nee Morton) signs Witness along with Richard Gains and Edmund Ayres. James Venable, [his wife's Brother-in-law] and William Morton, and Thomas Carter were executors.
