Genealogy, Miami Beach, FL (1991) p. 12 Deed Book 10, p 77 Apr 4, 1776 from William Powell of H to WILLIAM ARNOLD of Cumberland County, for 115 pounds, one tract of land in H on Woods Cr, about 400 acres, and bounded by Luke Powell William Powell Wit: James Bell, Luke Powell, John Tuck Recorded Jul 18, 1776 Mary, the wife of the said William, voluntarily relinquished her right of dower to the lands conveyed. +++++++++ pp. 68-69 Deed Book 12, p 67 Jun 14, 1780 from Luke Powell of H, to Stephen Allen of Cumberland County, for 4000 pounds, one certain tract of land in H, and bounded by Powell, Land?s line, leaving out 10 acres out of the original survey which said Powel sold Joseph Land, thence to Terry, containing about 380 acres. Will of Luke Powell September Court 1805 Wife Nanney Powell James, Robert Susannah, William and Fanny Powell and Betty Powell and Nancy Powell; and if wife is with child 'with' shall have one equal part with all above mentioned and my wifes thirds at her death shall return to my Estate and be divided among my surviving children; but if my children dies without an heir lawfully begotten of their body their part of shall return to the remaining legetees to an equal division.
