  • Notes
    • Daniel & Bathsheba married 12 May 1767, Tisbury, Dukes,
      Mass...per IGI

Daniel Dunham & family apparently arrived in Washington Co
OH in 1789. However, there are indications that he/they
might have been there a year earlier.

Rufus Putnam and the first Marietta settlers from MA and RI
took the old road across southern PA to Pittsburg and then
came down the Ohio River. Persons fro CT who were going to
Ohio's Western Reserve used lakes and rivers to get to
Buffalo, NY. They eventually followed the shoreline of
Lake Erie to get to northern OH and Cleveland.

DEATH: DOD from Belpre, Ohio -- Cemeteries, Rockland &
      Cedarville
FHC #0940911, Item 6, p.2: "In memory of Mr.
      Daniel Dunham who died
Jan. (17) 1791, in the 45th year of his age."
      Grave in Cedarville
Cemetery which may have been moved to Rockland.
      Cemetery copied about
1935 by people not familiar with this type of thing
      as there is a note
stating they may have mixed up some of the
      information as to which
      grave belonged in which cemetery.

NOTE by KLV: The Cedarville & Rockland Cemeteries are in
      Belpre Township

Letters of Administration granted to Bathsheba Dunham,
      widow, 6 Apr 1791 FHC #0946211, V.1, p. 5

      Probate Record: Washington Co OH: pr1, p. 5, 13, 17

It is possible he is buried in the Rainbow Cemetery in
Muskingum Township in Washington County, OH. Trying to
      locate the cemetery records.
