She was the wife of the late Gus Mays Dalton for fifty-four years. She was born March 3, 1923, in Pittsylvania County, a daughter of the late Tony B. Reynolds and Audrey Arthur Reynolds. She was a life-time member of New Bethel United Methodist Church and a homemaker. She is survived by two sons, Robert Wayne Dalton and Barry Dean Dalton and his wife Shelby all of Hurt; three daughters, Joan Cooper and her husband Ronnie of Florida, Janice Smith and Donna Arthur both of Hurt; ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Roger Mays Dalton; a grandson, Howard Douglas Cox; a son-in-law, J. Fred Smith; two brothers Tony and Jerry Reynolds; and a sister, Audrey Treadway. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 7, 2014 at New Bethel United Methodist Church by the Rev. Dr. R.A. "Dick" Daily and Rev. Mary Jones with interment to follow in the Bruce Family Cemetery, Hurt. [S46] Marriage Record/Certificate.
