  • Notes  Married:
    • George and Elizabeth left Rowan (now Davidson) County,
North Carolina in 1807 and settled in Indiana Territory and
with their older sons, John Jacob, George Jr., and Andrew
M., they build Becks Mill south of Salem, Washington
County, Indiana. The old mill, rebuilt in 1864, still
stands at the mill stream near Becks Hill, and was the
first grist mill in the 30-50 mile area. This is still
printed on some maps and atlases. -JNT email

Many stories of the Beck's are written in the Washington
County, Indiana history. [Beck & Tittle Footprints; John
      Charles Beck biography prepared 19981001].
