      Lucy Grymes (1743-1830) married on July 29, 1762, Thomas Nelson (1738-1789), signer of the Declaration of Independence and governor of Virginia.

The group portrait includes the four eldest children of the family; Lucy Grymes 1743-1830, Philip Grymes 1746-1805, John Randolph Grymes 1747-1796 and Charles Grymes b. 1748.
