Charlene Ebeling Thank you, I am going to check in to this. Some folks have added Braxton as a middle name to my 3x great uncle. I haven't seen any proof of this yet. But I do remember getting hints and seeing records of a William Braxton Carter born at the same time as my 3x uncle. I always knew it couldn't be my ggreat grandfather William Benton Carter because the dates didn't match. But I'm still not 100% it's not his uncle. I don't have a middle name for him yet, just William Carter born and died in McMinnville Warren Tennessee. Buried at Liberty Cemetery.
Something made me think William Braxton Carter b. 1817 could be a cousin but I can't remember what made me think that lol. So researching again lol
