According to my records, Thomas Cook was born abt 1790 and married Nancy Bolling in 1822. Two of his brothers married Nancy?s sisters. I don?t see how he could have married somebody else in Maryland as he never left Pittsylvania County, VA. Plus our family still owns the original property. The graves have disappeared over the years but the cabin still sits there. I go up there about once a year. So I?m totally confused about a plantation somewhere else and about Thomas being married to someone else. I guess I?ll need to contact the library and see where their information came from.
I have several William Blairs in my tree. My earliest is William A Y Blair whose son Suter married Eusebius Henry Cook?s daughter. Eusebius was the son of Harmon Cook III who I show as married to Margaret Bolling. I?m guessing this is your family line. I didn?t document William A Y?s line but now you?ve made me curious.
Also wondering about Sam Eanes. Is that the same guy that posts for Find-A-Grave? If so, he is a cousin of mine (I?m an Eanes by birth ? was my grandmother who was a Cook)
You?ve certainly given me a lot to think about. Hopefully I can sort this out before I publish anything.
Thanks for the information. Time for a road trip.
