    1. [S42] Obituary.
      Elmer W. Reynolds, 84 of North East, MD, died Wednesday, April 9, 2008. A lifelong resident of North East, he was born on July 24, 1923, the son of the late James Duffy and the late Elizabeth C. Ferguson Reynolds. He was the husband of the late Doris H. Reynolds who died July 26, 1999. He served as a Medic during World War II in the Army, which included the Battle of the Bulge. He retired from the DuPont Company as a Warehouseman. Mr. Reynolds was a life member of North East Volunteer Fire Dept., being a member for 67 years. He served as a past Asst. Chief and was entered into the Harford and Cecil County Hall of Fame. He bowled in the Seniors Bowling League and liked Orioles baseball, football and soccer. He also enjoyed playing cards at the fire house and coin collecting. Survivors include two sons: Edward E. Reynolds and his wife Judy of North East, MD and Marty L. Reynolds, Sr. and his wife Julie of Perryville, MD; a duahgter-in-law: Doris E. Reynolds of Warwick, MD; two sisters: Rachel Alexander of Rising Sun, MD; Delores Letts of North East, MD; 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert R. Reynolds, Sr.; four brothers, Arthur, Henry, Charles and Frank Reynolds; and a sister: Idella Preston. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where family and friends may call starting at 9:30 AM. Rev. Daniel T. Gedman will officiate. Interment will be in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to: North East Volunteer Fire Department, in care of the funeral home.
