Homer C. Holley, 95, of Callands, went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, January 1, 2016. He was born August 26, 1920 in Pittsylvania County, to the late Beverly Holley and the late Martha Reynolds Holley and was married to the late Mabel Finney Holley. Mr. Holley was a member of County Line Christian Church and worked as a tobacco farmer, saw miller, and logger. Mr. Holley proudly served in the United States Army and was a veteran of World War II.
Mr. Holley is survived by his daughters, Carolyn H. Ashby and her husband, Ronnie of Martinsville, and Brenda H. Gregory and her husband, Melvin of Midlothian; his son, Rodger Holley and his wife, Betty of Winston Salem, N.C.; and his brother, Floyd Holley and his wife, Helen of Callands; as well as seven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Holley was predeceased by two infant daughters, one infant granddaughter, six sisters, and four brothers.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 4, 2016 at County Line Christian Church, with Minister Dean Ashby and the Rev. Daryl Joyce officiating. Interment will follow at Holley Family Cemetery at Liberty Baptist Church, Callands.
