    Notes:

    John Hampton Jr was born on 03 Jun 1683 on Hempfield Plantation, Gloucester County, Virginia. He was the son of John Hampton Sr and Mary Mann. He married Margaret Wade on 01 Jan 1712. According to a 1712 land record his father gave him the Hempfield land. Later he moved to Essex County, Virginia and lived there until 1736. In 1742 he was living in Prince William County, Virginia where he died 18 Jan 1747.

    Notes:

    The chronology and the Halifax County connection suggest that the father of Margaret Wade Hampton, was James Wade, Sr. who died in Hanover County in 1740. King William County was established in 1702 from part of King and Queen County which was split from New Kent County in 1691. Hanover County came from New Kent County in 1721.     John Hampton Sr. lived in King William County, VA, was the s/o Reverend Thomas Hampton, Jr. who was the s/o the Reverend Thomas Hampton Sr. and is the Immigrant of this line. Most female wives names are not listed. Thomas Hampton Sr. came to Virginia from England about 1629 and was a minister at Jamestown in 1630; he died in 1648.
