    Notes:

The Devin Family, page 39 states that the unnamed husband

Devin's husband is George Beck; a cousin of Philip Beck.

He was from Salem, IN. (Washington Co.)

Rowan County, North Carolina became Davidson County, North
Carolina. Andrew Beck moved with his parents to Washington
County, Indiana Territory in 1808. [Beck & Tittle

When Susan died, Andrew had the responsibility of a new
born baby, a son, Alexander, eighteen months old, and four
young daughters. He must have had help from other family
members where they lived at Beck's Mill. Andrew M. Beck
remarried two years after Susan died to Rebecca Barker.
[JNT email 04.October.1998]. They moved to near Terrell,
    Kaufman County, Texas in 1854.

Generation: 4

  1. 12.  John George Beck was born Between 1762 and 1764, Berks County, Pennsylvania (son of Johann Philip Beck and Anna Catherine Crouse); died Yes, date unknown.

    Notes:

[From "Beck and Tittle Footprints" by Nell Truitt prepared
    01.October.1998]:
George Beck, Sr. brought his family from North Carolina in
1807, staying a short time in Bear Grass, which is now
Louisville, Kentucky. George and his two older sons, John,
age 23 and George, Jr. age 16, while out scouting in
December 1807, located organ Spring along Mill creek and
built a grist-mill ther. The spring was dammed and provided
a gallon of water per minute at 60 degree temperature. The
first grist mill was a log structure fifteen feet square.

Within a short time, Beck's Hill, as the settlement was
known, became a social center as families from a thirty
mile radius brought their corn to Beck's Mill to be ground
into cornmeal. Sometimes it took two or three days as they
waited their turns, so games were played outdoors with the
young Beck boys. In the summer of 1825, a frame building,
twenty by thirty feet square replaced the first mill
structure. Two years later, a lean-to was bult and a
carding machine was put in operation. A commodious,
two-story frame structure for the mill was built in 1864,
and the carding machinery was placed in the second story.
The structure still stands in 1998.

M., they build Becks Mill south of Salem, Washington
County, Indiana. The old mill, rebuilt in 1864, still
