    She rode horseback with the three oldest children to teach
    her students.
    Her married life was spent working along side Ira dairying,
    raising a garden,
    canning fruits and vegetables, cooking, cleaning & all the
    multitude of chores
    associated with each. She also did a lot of sewing making
    clothes & creating
    quilts that were given to her grandchildren. Because of
    the hardships of of
    raising ten children during the 1930's depression, out on
    homesteaded ground,
    nothing went to waste in creating gifts for her family &
    decorations around her
    home.

    Died at Lyle Gulch home the day the barn blew up.

    Narrative History:
    Oleta was educated at Flora High School in Flora, Oregon.
    Along with being a farm wife and young mother, she also
