    Everette L. Emerson Jr.

    Everette Lee Emerson Jr., 76, of 4023 Farmview Road in Stanley, died Thursday, April 3, 2008, at Page Memorial Hospital in Luray.

    Mr. Emerson was born Nov. 19, 1931, in Luray, and was the son of Hazel LeHew Emerson of Luray and the late Everette Lee Emerson Sr.

    He worked as a clerk at McKim and Huffman Pharmacy for 46 years. He was a 1949 graduate of Luray High School. He had been a member of the Luray Fire Department since December 1949 and had served as secretary for 23 years. He was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church.

    On May 2, 1953, he married the former Deldee J. Durette, who survives of Stanley.

    Surviving in addition to his wife and mother, are two daughters and their husbands, Sharon L. and Doug Henry of Luray, and Cynthia D. and Ron Fravel of Luray; three stepgrandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by a son, Steven N. Emerson.

    The Revs. Mark Briehl and Patricia K. Covington will conduct the funeral 11 a.m. Saturday (today) at St. Luke Lutheran Church. Burial will be in St. Luke Cemetery in Alma, Stanley, Va.

    Friends were received Friday at Bradley Funeral Home in Luray.

    Memorial contributions may be made to Luray Fire Department, 1 Firehouse Lane, Luray, VA 22835, or the Stanley Rescue Squad in Stanley, VA 22851.
