    Notes:

    Donald William Hendricks, a lifelong resident of Havre de Grace and a member of many of its community and service organizations, died Sept. 4 at his home with his wife and children at his side. He was 86.

    Mr. Hendricks was married for 63 years to Shirley Jean Lewis Hendricks.

    He was born in 1931 in Perryville, the son of the late Joseph Nelson Hendricks and the late Gladys Lilley Hendricks.

    He was an Air Force veteran and proud of his service in Japan during and after the Korean War.

    Mr. Hendricks was a Master Mason and a member of Susquehanna Lodge 130 of the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons in Havre de Grace for 61 years, receiving his 60-year pin in the spring of 2016. He was also a member of the Joseph L. Davis American Legion Post 47 and the BPOElks Lodge 1564, both of Havre de Grace, and was an active member of the Havre de Grace Fourth of July Committee for more than 20 years, serving as its parade marshal for many of those years. Mr. Hendricks was a Life Member of Havre de Grace's volunteer fire company ? the Susquehanna Hose Co. He was a volunteer coach and umpire and was inducted into the Havre de Grace Little League Hall of Fame in 2004. He was also a Life Member of the Havre de Grace Decoy Museum and the Ripken Museum in Aberdeen.

    Mr. Hendricks retired after working more than 37 years for C&P Telephone Co., and was also a member of the phone company's Telephone Pioneers, a volunteer organization and service club. After retiring from C&P Telephone, he spent 19 years delivering flowers for Amanda's Florist, of Havre de Grace.

    He started his working life as one of McLhinney's News Boys, a group of young boys and teens, who delivered newspapers every day for McLhinney's News Depot in Havre de Grace.

    He was a 1951 Havre de Grace High School graduate.

    He was a lifelong fan of the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens and was a longtime Baltimore Colts season ticketholder.

    In addition to his wife, he is survived by their five children and their spouses: Timothy Joseph "Ted" Hendricks, and his wife, Pat, of Havre de Grace; Pamela Lynn Bodt, and her husband, Barry, of Fallston; Caroline Abraham, and her husband, Alex, of Havre de Grace; Kevin Hendricks, and his wife, Kim, of Salisbury; and Michael Hendricks, and his wife, Kristi, of Medford, Oregon. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren ? Justine and Taylor Hendricks, of Havre de Grace; Kyle Bodt, of Parkton, and Skylar Bodt, of Fallston; Carla Mike, of Washington, D.C.; McCayley Hendricks Petus, and her husband, Michael, of Florida; Tess Hendricks, of Salisbury; Jason Hendricks, and his wife, Heather, of Oregon; Shane Hendricks, and his wife, Kirstie, of Oregon; and Ashley and McKenzie Fitzsimmons, of Oregon; and six great-grandchildren ? Audrey, Addie and Cameron Hendricks; Landyn and Addie Hendricks, and Kahri Fitzsimmons, all of Oregon.

    He is also survived by his sisters, Marci Boyle, of Havre de Grace; and Donna Treat, and her husband, Roger, of Ninety Six, S.C.

    Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 Friday, Sept. 8, at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 S. Washington St. in Havre de Grace. Funeral services begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at the First Baptist Church of Havre de Grace at 108 S. Stokes St. Interment will follow at Rock Run Cemetery at 4102 Rock Run Road in Havre de Grace
