Nannie (daughter of Stokeley Carter and Frances Elisha Keen) was born 14 Jan 1842, Pittsylvania County, Virginia; died 1 Jul 1910, Pittsylvania County, Virginia; was buried , Magnolia Cemetery, Richmond County, Georgia. Nannie married William Johnson "Billy" Blair on 31 Dec 1863 in Pittsylvania Co., VA. He was the son of Drury Blair and Chloe T.

Billy Blair owned Stony Mill in Pittsylvania Co, VA. After Nancy and Billy married, her father Stokeley Carter bought the mill from Billy Blair (Pittsylvania Co., Deed Book 60, p. 171), and Nannie and Billy headed to Augusta, GA.

After Billy died, Nannie stayed in Augusta for a short while before moving with her children back to the Stony Mill Community in Pittsylvania County.

Nannie bought Stony Mill from her sister, and ran the mill until her death. After her death, her son Charles J. Blair owned and operated Stony Mill for about 20 more years.

Nannie died in Pittsylvania Co, VA. According to her obituary, she was returned to Augusta to be buried beside her husband.

Nancy is named for her grandmother Nancy Hutchings who married Thomas Carter in 1806. Nancy Hutchings Carter was the daughter of Moses Hutchings. Nancy died before her father wrote his will in Jan 1835. In his will, he referred to his deceased daughter Nancy Carter, wife of Thomas Carter. Her grave has not been located.

After her death, her husband Thomas moved to Missouri with most of their children. Sons James and Stokeley stayed in Pittsylvania Co., VA.

Drury married Chloe Coleman 8 Nov 1827. Chloe was born 3 Oct 1801, Pittsylvania County, Virginia; died 2 Sep 1887, Pittsylvania County, Virginia; was buried , Blair Cemetery, Pittsylvania County, Virginia. [Group Sheet]

Notes:

Chloe Coleman and Drury Blair married 08 Nov 1827. Chloe was the daughter of William Coleman and Chloe T. McDaniel.

Some dates found vary a little from what is posted here, giving Chloe's dates as 09 Oct 1801 ? 12 Sep 1854.

Chloe?s death is reported by Drury in the Death Register of Pittsylvania Co., VA (p. 15, line 168). She died of Typhoid fever, where the T of Typhoid matches her middle initial. Their daughter Lucy Smith Blair had died of Typhoid fever a month earlier, on 09 Aug 1854.
