    Name:
    William Letcher, Husband of Elizabeth Perkins, father of Bethenia Letcher, he was a pioneer and early settler of what would later become Patrick County, Virginia. He was murdered by a Tory named Nicholas on 2 August 1780. He was buried on his farm that remained in his family for several generations. His great grandson, Confederate General J.E.B. Stuart, was born there.
