    Upon the Petiton of Capt Edwd Brock ordered that a veni
    re Issue forth for Jane Mackeboy ye wife of Mathew Mac
    eboy for her appearthe next Court Coming and that
    She bring along with her Mathew Magbee and Brock

    Prince Georges County August Court 1709
    The Widdow Magbee appeared by vertue of her Majesties
    writt of venire to answer ye Complaint of Capt Edward Brock
    of and Concerneing the Orphants of Mathew Magbee had
    by his former wife Capt Brocks Daughter the Orphants
    Likewise appearing and Mrs Brock allsoe to make good
    The Complaint of her Husband Upon hearing ye Complaint
    and the Defence of ye Widdow Magbee it appears to ye Court
    that although they ware ye Orphants of Captaine Brocks Daughter they ware alsoe the Orphants of ye Deceased Magbee Likewise who had
    Left two or three Small Chilldren behind him wch must have
    a Mainteince and that those bigger Chilldren might be a
    a great help in Doeing ye Same and ye Said Widdow haveing
    a Gennerall good Carocter the Said Orphants ware again
    Commanded home againe with their mother in Law they
    being first of all admonished to be Duetifull and industri-

    To ye Worshipfull ye Justices of Prince Georges County
    and Court Sitting
    The Humble Petition of Jane Magbee ye Widdow of Mathew
    Mackbee Submissively Sheweth That your Petitioners Husband being dead and thereby Left in a Desolate Condition with three Small Children one of which is a Criple and unable to help himselfe and She haveing at ye time of her husbands decease with her two boyes wch her Said Husband had by a former wife ye Daughter of one Capt Brock of this County who as being their Grandfather pretended to take them away from your Petitioner till a more Just Complaint ware made But now Soe it is may it plase your Worshipps yt within a very Small time after Such Order ye Said boyes wth out ye Knowledge of your Petitioner or any Cause Given by her but as your Petitioner Supposes was by ye fair and insinuateing promises of ye Said Capt Brock Left your Petitioner and went to him and there remains Contrary to your worshipps Order and to ye Great Dam age of your poor Petitioner who hath noe Servt to worke for her whereby to maintaine her Said Children and further the Charge wch did Acrew by ye Said Brock Complaint is Chargd to our Petitioner [PGLR D.276]

    Your Petitioner therefore most humbly ____ of your worshipps to Consider her Condition and if you think fitt not to Order ye Children Againe to her as Once you ware Pleased that ye Said Capt Brock may be Compelld to pay the tha he Occationed by his Complaint and to Allow your Petitioner wherewith to mainteine ye Said Small Children he depriveing her of ye means to doe itt other wise and as in Duety bound Shall pray The Petiton being read ordered that Capt Brock deliver the two Orphant Children of Matthew Magbee to ye Said Widdow wch he by soe Clandestine & unjust manner Deteines Contrary to a forme Order of this Court and that he be Served wth a Coppy of this Order [PGLR D.277]
