Notes
a. Note:N2689 Edith's maiden name is proven by this deed. The sale of the land had restrictions placed on it by the will of William Hatcher, namely that his (apparent) granddaughters had to receive some payment from said sale. William Hatcher's (apparent) daughter, Martha, was married to Thomas Wadlow. This site has a good summary of the Wadlow family (and it is mentioned that Martha was reportedly a Hatcher...this deed seems to prove that, too!) http://www.planetmurphy.org/content/body/WadlowThomas.htm
Henrico Co. Deed Bk 1750-1767, p. 937, 11 January 1765 John Randolph of Curles, son of Thomas Randolph, to Robert Pleasants, both of Henrico County, for 550 pounds, 50 acres near the mouth of Four Mile Creek, being the same land whereon William Hatcher, deceased, did dwell and by his last will and testament gave to the said John Randolph on certain conditions. [Bond for 1,000 pounds from John Randolph to Robert Pleasants dated 11 February 1765 appended, confirming that Randolph pursuant to the said will will pay Edith Turpin, Elizabeth Hix, Sarah Wadlow and Susannah Wadlow each 50 pounds.] Wit: Richard Randolph, Rolfe Eldridge, R.K.
