Frances Wright Blair, age 103, of 6816 Mt. Cross Rd., Danville, VA, died on Monday, July 15, 2013 at her residence. She was born on August 14, 1909, in Pittsylvania County, VA, to the late William Thomas Wright and Nannie Maude Allen Wright. Mrs. Blair worked at Dan River Mills for 22 years and was also a homemaker. She was a member of the St. John's United Methodist Church. She spent most of her life in the Mt. Cross area. Mrs. Blair married Sydney Lee Blair on December 25, 1926. She is survived by her daughters: Barbara Hearp, of Dry Fork and Edith Gauldin and her husband, Homer L. Gauldin, Sr., of Danville, VA with whom she lived; twelve grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and twenty great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents Mrs. Blair was predeceased by her husband: Sydney Lee Blair; one son: Clifton Dale Blair; one daughter: Charlotte Edna Turpin; three grandchildren; and one great-grandson. She was the last surviving sibling.
