      Janice Allison Merricks Eggleston, 78, of 1583 Emmaus Church Road, Moneta, Va., died on Thursday, November 4, 2010, at her home surrounded by her husband, children and family. She was born on April 26, 1932, in Callands, Va., to the late Walter Bell Merricks and Mabel Elizabeth Wells Merricks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Gary Merricks, David Merricks, Obie Merricks and Junior Merricks and three infant brothers. Mrs. Eggleston was a member of Vinton Church of Christ, Vinton, Va., and a former member of County Line Christian Church, Axton, Va. She retired on October first of this year as a school bus driver for the Bedford County School System. She had previously worked for the Henry County School System as a school bus driver and Behind the Wheel Driver's Education Instructor. Also, Mrs. Eggleston was an Avon Representative and a member of the Avon President's Club.
      Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Henry Clay Eggleston, of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Jeanne Ashbridge and Byron, of Charlotte, N.C., Betty Lou Fox and Michael, of Moneta, Va., and Rita Gail Dillon and Rick, of Axton, Va.; son and daughter-in-law, Mike Eggleston and Vicki, of Blacksburg, Va.; sisters, Angie Hatchett, of Georgia, and Peggy Davenport, of Ohio; brother, Trent Merricks, of Ohio; and grandchildren, Whitney Eggleston, Matthew Ashbridge and triplets, Tyler, Sean and Megan Ashbridge and Michael "Neil" Fox, who was born on her birthday. Also surviving are two stepgranddaughters, Lindsey and Meredith Fox.
      The family will receive friends on Saturday afternoon, November 6, 2010, from 3 until 5 p.m., at Vinton Church of Christ, 2107 Feather Road, Vinton, Va. 24179 and on Sunday, November 7, 2010, from 2 until 3 p.m. at County Line Christian Church, 12711 Chatham Road, Axton, Va. 24054. The Funeral Service will be held 3 p.m. on Sunday, November 7, 2010, at County Line Christian Church with Minister Dean Ashby and Minister Bill Himes officiating. Burial will be at County Line Christian Church Cemetery.
