JONATHAN STONE of the Co of Henry are held & firmly bound unto JAMES
WOOD Esq, Governor of VA, this ?? for the time being in the sum of
$150 current money To which payment will thereby to be made. We bind ourselves to each of us, and each of our heirs Exec or Adm jointly,
severally?? & firmly by these Presents Sealed with our seales dated this 16th day of July 1798. Whereas this? is a marriage ?? by Gods

02 Dec 1824, Henry Co: DAVID DALTON DYER, his wife NANCY, and James Dyer, his wife Sarah Ann, purchased 1800a more or less of land from the estate of John Philpott for the sum of $3780. This tract of land was described as being on both sides of Smith Riv, Town Creek and Mill Creek.
Edw Philpott and James A. Mitchell were executors of the estate.
14 Mar 1825, Henry Co: the purchasers sold 360a of this land back to Edw Philpott for $1260.
