  [S42] Obituary, Mary Emma Arrington. Mary Emma ARRINGTON was born on 23 July 1869 in Halifax, VA. She died on 14 June 1949 at the age of 79 in South Boston, Halifax, VA. obituary, Halifax Gazette, June 16 1949, p.4 "Mrs. Mary Emma Green Passes Here" Death came to Mrs. Mary Emma Green, who lived at 727 Marshall avenue, Tuesday afternoon after a short illness. She was taken to the South Boston Hospital last Friday suffering from a heart ailment and her condition gradually grew worse. The funeral rites were held yesterday at 2 p.m. at the late home by Dr. F. C. Riley and she was interred in Oak Ridge cemetery. Mrs. Green was born July 22, 1869, the daughter of the late James and Mrs. Martha Ann Arrington. She married Nathaniel Green who preceded her to the grave. The following children are left: Mrs. E. J. Stickland, F. A. Green, Eddie Green and Mumford Green, all of this city, J. G. Green, Farmville, and C. T. Green, Durham. Mrs. Sam Gravitt and E. L. Arrington, South Boston, are the surviving sister and brother. She was buried on 16 June 1949 at Oak Ridge Cemetery in South Boston, Halifax, VA. Parents: James Radford ARRINGTON and Martha Jane WARREN. Spouse: Nathaniel Thomas GREEN. Mary Emma ARRINGTON and Nathaniel Thomas GREEN were married on 7 January 1885.
