      Emily Ann Alsup Turner (1822 - 1898)
      Burial: Junction Cemetery
      Junction Kimble County, Texas
She married Oswell Denman in Yalobusha County, Mississippi, on March 12, 1843. They had three children: Marcellus, Claudius, and Leonidas. By 1850 she was married to James Turner and living in Bastrop County, Texas, where her parents had also moved. She had her three sons with her and a new daughter, Della, 3 months old as of Sept. 5, 1850.

The 1850 recorded Emily A. Turner, 26 [28], living in Bastrop County, Texas with James S. Turner, 21, and children: Marcellus, 7, Claudius, 5, Leonidus, 3, and Della, 3 months. Note: They were living next to a Horace Alsup, also from Mississippi, but it is uncertain if they were kin.

The 1860 census recorded Emily A. Turner, 36 [38], living on a farm in Bastrop County, Texas, with husband Jaems, 32, and children: [Della], 10; Fobithia B., 9; Mary, 8; Leonora, 6; Julina, 2; and James L., 4 months. Also living in the homes were Emily's older sons: Marcellus, Claudius, and Leonidas Denman.

Her husband James was killed during the War Between the States, reportedly in Louisiana.

The 1880 census recorded E. A. Turner, 58, living in Kimble County, Texas, with her children: son L. L. [Leonidas] Denman, 33; John S. Turner, 17; and Laura Tuner, 15. They were apparently living in a town, which had to have been Junction. Emily was keeping a boarding house and a lawyer was boarding there. Leonidas was working as a machinist. The county clerk lived next door. On the other side was a hotel where several people lived, including two lawyers, a deputy sheriff, and a deputy county clerk.
