    1. [S85] Virginia Chancery Records.
This Elizabeth Carter did NOT marry John M. Turpin as is seen in other research. The Chancery Record from LVA for Prince Edward states that the heirs of Theo Carter are his brothers and sisters and names the men and each of the girls and their husband's names. This record clearly shows that Elizabeth is the wife of Noel Waddill. Probably the same Noel Waddill who was witness to her father's Will in 1781. Elizabeth Carter was married to Noel WADDELL Jr on 30 Jun 1786 in Halifax County, Virginia; This record is corroborated by the Chancery suit of 1825 naming the brothers and sisters of Theo Carter. Additionally, Elizabeth is named as Elizabeth Carter in her father's will of 1781, making her single or unmarried. Her sister is married to William Waddill, (may be brothers)
