      Sarah Wyatt was born to William Wyatt and Elizabeth Eggleston Wyatt in Caroline County, Virginia about 1768. It is unknown the date of Sarah Wade's death, the last record was found of her testamony July 15, 1831. She was not listed in the 1850 census records in Richmond Co., NC.

      Greetings: We reposing special trust and confidence in your integrity, Do authorize and empower you to cause "Sarah Wade" to appear before you, at such time and place as you may appoint, and her on oath to examine touching all such matters and things as she shall know of concering a certain matter of controversy in our Superior Court of Law for the county of Richmond pending, wherein "Edwin Wade, Executor of H. Wade" is plaintiff and "Eggleston Wade" defendant. And these depositions in writing by you so taken, the same to transmit, sealed with your seals, to our Court to be held for the said county on the Forth Monday in September next, to be read in evidence in behalf of the defendant in said controversy.

      EDWIN WADE, EXECUTOR OF H. WADE VS. EGGLESTON WADE, in the Supreme Court of law for the county of Richmond, state of North Carolina.

      In issuance of the amend commission to us directed from the clerk of the Supreme Court of Law for the county of Richmond in the state of North Carolina, we have cause to come before us, "Joseph W. McKean and Francis Shoemake" asking Justice of the law from the county of Hardeman, state of Tennessee at the dwelling house of William G. Steel in said county on the 13th day of July 1831.
      Sarah Wade a witness summoned to depose on behalf of the defendant in a certain matter now in
      controversy defending in said Supreme Court of Law for the County of Richmond, state of North Carolina, wherein "Edwin Wade, Executor of H. Wade deceased is plaintiff and Eggleston Wade is defendant and William G. Steele is agent for defendant being present and mental.

      Sarah Wade being about seventy years old and having been first sworn in due front of law deposeth and saith to 1st intergatory by defendant agent.
      "At a time when your son Edwin was in a low state of health and life disposed of do you recollect anything of a conversation between yours sons, Edwin and Eggleston canceling a note when held by Edwin against Eggleston.
      Answer to first question:
      " I don't recollect any conversation between them".
      July 2: "State if you can recollect in what year it was, and where Montgomery Ingram was in a low state of health the same year.
      Answer: " I think it was 1818 and Montgomery Ingram was in a low state of health the same year.
      July 3: "Did he, Edwin, say anything in regard to the payment of that note, and if he did state what it was?"
      Answer: "I do not recollect to have him say anything about it."
      July 4: "Do you recollect from their conversations what the sum of the note and for what it was given?"
      Answer: "The note was for one hundred dollars and given for rent for the boys part of the land."
      July 5: "Did Edwin state where the note was?"
      Answer: "If he did, I don't recollect it."
      July 6: "Did Eggleston take away the note then?"
      Answer: "I don't believe he did, I can not say whether he did or not".
      July 7: "Do you recollect chiding him for not taking it out?"
      Answer: "I do not recollect it".
      July 8: "If you know anymore that matters, state it."
      Answer: "I have heard the boys contends about a settlement between them and further this deposant saith not." signed Sallie Wade

      We Joseph W. McKean and Francis Shoemake, two acting justices of the peace for said county do certify that the foregoing deposition was taken down by the said Francis Shoemake and in the presence of the said Joseph W. McKean and in the presents of William G. Steel the defendants agent no person attending for the plaintiff and that the same was sealed up by us. July 15, 1831 signed J. W. McKean, J.P. and Francis Shoemake, J. P.
