  Married	William of Culpepper lived in Culpepper County, Virginia before he settled in Pittsylvania. Evidence of this fact is found in his son's Pension Application (see documents). His Will is found in Pittsylvania Co., Virginia recorded in 1791. All of his children but Jesse left Pittsylvania County after his death. Further research is underway. Contact us if you have further information about this line. Several deeds located for Culpeper Co., Virginia for this time period name other Reynolds (Runnolds) etc. DB E 1765-69 Page 564-66 shows a John Reynolds on a tract commonly called Mountponey. I googled Mount Poney and found it located in Culpeper Co and and taken off from a church called Mountain Run, in Orange County, Mountpony Church in was constituted in 1768... . Signed Robert (R ) Walters Wit: Fortun Dodson, John Pond, Robert Walters Jr 16 Oct 1781 proved by one of the wit 19 Feb 1782, further proved [no acerage given, but DB 7, p.518, suggests this was 204 acres and part of a tract of ? acres] Pittsylvania Co Land Tax Lists, 1782. Robert Walters Senior - 722 acres. p.518 14 Oct 1785 Robert Walters to William Rice. 80£. 300 acres part of tract in Pittsy Co on waters of Falls creek containing 504 acres granted to said Walters by patent dated 13 Jun 1785. Begin Orlandes Smith corner, crossing two branches, crossing another branch, white oak in Robert Walters's line, along the same, red Oak in Walters line, along the same, Along William Russells line, along Smith's line to the beginning. 204 acres part of patent of 504 acres sd Walters had sold to William Reynolds.   Jessey is the spelling found in William's Will. 'Jesse' is found on marriage bonds and other documents. All of these families lived in the southeastern quadrant of Pittsylvania County, Virginia. Of the large family of William and Martha Reynolds, only one son remained in this county {Pittsylvania} to carry on the name. This was Jesse. He had eight daughters who were married in Pittsylvania County. **************** From the book The Rennolds- Reynolds Family of England and Virginia by Stephen Frederick Tillman page 118. 1112 Jesse Reynolds, son of David Reynolds, [incorrect! his father is William as shown in Jesse's Application for Benefits] b.1754,[ic:16 May 1754] who m. Sarah [Brown]-. He served in the Rev. War with the Va. State Line(AG 50152) and then settled in Henrico County, Va and then Pittsylvania Co.,VA. Mrs. Reynolds d.7-15-1840. Issue:John David [no evidence of son, John David]; Elizabeth who m. 8-14-1819 Champness Evans; Patsey, who m.7-26-1810 Samuel Blair; Nancy who m.9-28-1803 Frederick Brown; Sarah, who m.8-8-1810 David Evans; Judith, who m.9-22-1803 Samuel Matherly; Mary, who m. 1-17-1816 Jesse Pearman; Anne who m.3-16-1812 William Shackleford; Da[n]iel, who m.10-16-1822 Polly Bradley, and settled in NC; Milley, who m.10-12-1810 Vincent Brown. Note: Much of the Tillman Record of the Pittsylvania Reynolds has been proven to be incorrect; it seems his assistant was a secretary in the Reynolds Family Association and this Patrick County line is descended from Christopher Reynolds. The Pittsylvania Reynolds line is descended from the Reynolds of Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania or in the Pennsylvania/Maryland region. Evidence of the connection of this William Reynolds of Culpepper and Hugh Reynolds of Muddy Run, Lancaster Pennsylvania has NOT been located to my knowledge. -mary frances reynolds Jesse bought the land his father, William left to his brothers, Joseph and Richard Cole, in 50 acre parcels in 1794 after the death of William in 1791.
